Gardaí have identified the woman who walked into Store Street Garda Station in Dublin last Sunday week in a confused state and suffering from memory loss.
They have been in contact with the woman's family in the US.
It is understood that she went to the garda station after arriving on a flight from the US.
Gardaí have confirmed that she is 42 years old and has an address in California.
