Former Fianna Fáil TD Michael Collins has been found guilty of obtaining a tax clearance certificate under false pretences in 2002.
A jury of seven men and five women returned its verdict after just under an hour of deliberation at Limerick Circuit Criminal Court this morning. The trial began on Tuesday.
A decision on Mr Collins' sentencing has been adjourned until 9 October.
Mr Collins had denied the charge of obtaining the tax clearance certificate under false pretences between 2 May and 12 June 2002.
He stepped down as TD for Limerick West before the General Election last summer.
