At least 32 people have been killed in ten bombings and shootings across Iraq.

In the northwest Iraqi town of Sinjar, eight people were killed and nine wounded in a suicide bombing targeting a tribal leader who had been opposing militants in the area.

The mayor of Sinjar, Dakheel Hassu, confirmed that a bomber had detonated a car filled with explosives near the Sunni leader's home.

While in north of Baghdad, synchronised car bombs exploded in a crowded marketplace in the town of Shargat, leaving seven people dead.

The blasts occurred at a market close to Shargat Hospital and the other in a nearby car park.

Five people were killed and more than 40 wounded in three bombings in Mosul, where a curfew has been in place.

In Kirkuk, two police officers were killed in a roadside bomb attack targeting a police patrol, while a civilian was killed and three others were wounded in another blast in the centre of the city.

This evening, two car bombs exploded in a market place in southwestern Baghdad's Baya district, killing three people and wounding 20.

And in Baquba, five people, all members of the same family, were shot dead when gunmen entered their home and sprayed them with bullets.
