Thirty four people, most of them suffering from minor injuries, were taken to hospital after a bus crash in Co Roscommon.

None of the passengers had life threatening injuries and all but one of them have now been released from Mayo General Hospital.

Crash happened on N5 near BallaghaderreenThe bus, which had been taking supporters of the Ardagh GAA club in Co Mayo to Croke Park for the All-Ireland Senior Ladies Football Final, left the road on the main N5 between Ballaghaderreen and Carracastle.

The accident happened at around 9.30am when the bus crashed through a barrier, close to where the new Charlestown bypass is under construction. No other vehicle was involved in the accident.

A number of people were treated at the scene by local doctors.
