A post mortem examination is to be carried out on the body of a ten-year-old boy who died after collapsing during a GAA training session in Co Tyrone last night.

Patrick Breen was training with his Michael Cusack Club teammates for a match which was due to take place tomorrow night.

One of two coaches who were at the training session attempted CPR on the boy, a doctor was called and the boy was transferred to the Erne Hospital but was later pronounced dead.

It is understood the boy was not involved in any collision and no injury was apparent.

A defibrillator was used at the scene.

14 boys and girls were participating in the training session when the incident occurred at Drumquin outside Omagh.

The team was an amalgamated grouping made up from two small rural clubs Drumquin and Dregish.

The post mortem will take place in Belfast later this afternoon.
