The head of the British Army during the invasion of Iraq has described the US post-war policy as 'intellectually bankrupt'.
In a published extract from his fortcoming memoirs, General Sir Mike Jackson is particularly critical of the former US Defence Secretary, Donald Rumsfeld.
He says he believes the US approach to combating global terrorism is inadequate and too focused on military might, rather than on nation-building and diplomacy.
