Exports of British livestock, meat and dairy products will resume from today with the lifting of the European Union ban imposed following the foot and mouth outbreak.
The ban does however remain in place in the 10km surveillance zone around the two farms in Surrey where the outbreak occurred.
The UK Government's Chief Veterinary officer, Debby Reynolds, has imposed a 5km temporary bio-security area around the two animal health laboratories in Pirbright which are at the centre of the investigation into the cause of the outbreak.
