All 20 people onboard a flight to Tahiti in French Polynesia are feared dead following a plane crash off Moorea Island.
The Air Moorea Twin Otter aircraft with 19 passengers and a pilot on board crashed after taking off from Temae airport in Moorea Island, en route to the local capital Papeete, a short flight away.
16 bodies have so far been recovered and the search for the remaining bodies is continuing.
All but five on the plane were French; two Australians were earlier confirmed dead.
The plane came down after veering to the right on take-off and crashed into the ocean.
Aviation authorities said weather conditions at the time were clear.
Moorea is one of around 118 islands, scattered across an area the size of Europe, that make up France's overseas territory of French Polynesia.
Authorities in Papeete said the victims included two EU development officials posted to the region.
Moorea is popular with foreign tourists and the crash occurred in the tourist high season.
Air Moorea, a subsidiary of domestic airline Air Tahiti, said it had never had an accident in its 35-year history.
