Further flooding is expected in Britain as parts of central and southern England remain under water.
In the Oxford area overnight, hundreds of homes in the west of the city were affected by the rising water levels and around 250 people had to be evacuated.
Fire chiefs have also warned that a local electricity substation could be breached.
Other vulnerable towns along the river including Henley, Reading and Windsor have received flood warnings.
