The wreckage of the helicopter damaged in yesterday's crash in Co Clare has been removed from the site at Ballynacally.

It will be taken to a special air accident investigation site in Gormanstown, Co Meath, later today where expert investigators will carry out further tests to try to establish what caused the crash.

69-year-old Frederick Balcombe from Townspark, Skerries in Dublin was killed in the accident.

The pilot is in a stable condition in hospital in Galway.
