Due to persistent rainfall all car parks at the Punchestown site of the Oxegen festival have been closed.
According to promoters MCD, more than 57,000 fans were already at the event location by 10am this morning.
Promoters have issued the following instructions to festival-goers:
Ticket holders travelling by car should not proceed to the Punchestown site.
All car parking facilities are now located only at Goffs (accessible via Johnstown/Kill exit off the N7).
A free shuttle bus service is continuously operating between Goff's and the festival site. Parking at Goffs and the shuttle bus service are free of charge.
Anyone travelling to Oxegen today or tomorrow is being uged to leave their car at home and avail of organised public transport.
Despite the earlier bad weather spirits were reported to be high at the festival.
