Kidnappers who seized a three-year-old British girl in Nigeria have threatened to kill her unless her father agrees to take her place.
Margaret Hill, the daughter of an Britsh worker, was abducted while being driven to pre-school in the oil city of Port Harcourt yesterday.
The girl was snatched while the car in which she was travelling was stopped in traffic.
Her mother, Oluchi Hill, said that the kidnappers had called demanding a meeting in a town in the Niger Delta.
Mrs Hill said Margaret's kidnappers were feeding her on bread and water.
Nigerian militants have reportedly offered to help in the search for the missing child.
The girl's father, Mike Hill, is a British consultant who works in the oil and gas industry and has lived in Port Harcourt for many years. Oluchi Hill, who is Nigerian, runs Goodfellas, a popular bar located in a relatively upscale neighbourhood of the city.
