A sailing regatta in Dún Laoghaire, that saw more than 100 children rescued from the waters yesterday after their boats overturned in stormy weather, did not resume today due to bad weather.
15 children and one adult were admitted to hospital and treated for shock and exposure after yesterday's incident.
20 boats capsized when a squall struck outside the protection of Dún Laoghaire West Pier.
Meanwhile, the Irish Sailing Association, the governing body for sailing, has announced that it will meet with the regatta organisers to review the decision to go ahead with yesterday's event.
The Association will also meet with Greystones Sailing Club in Co Wicklow, after the Coast Guard was called to help junior club members who got into difficulties when the stormy weather also hit a training course.
There was widespread praise for the massive emergency operation co-ordinated locally by the lifeboat service.
