At least ten houses in Northern Ireland were flooded tonight after a heavy downpour.
Sandbags were used and the emergency services were called to help remove water at Cushendall, Co Antrim after the storms at around 7pm .
Officers from the roads and water maintenance services were called and were battling long into the night to rescue property. By 11pm the rain had stopped.
Police said two roads between Cushendall and Cushendun were impassable because of the rising water.
The only route open between the two villages is the Leg Road, which is the main coastal road.
