The first non-stop commercial flight between Dublin and Abu Dhabi took off this morning for UAE's national carrier Etihad Airways.
The four flights-a-week route will connect passengers to destinations like Australia, southeast Asia, India, Africa and the Middle East (click here for a route map).
It will also serve the 3,000 Irish people living in the UAE.
Introductory fares begin at €266 return.
