The confectionery and drinks company, Cadbury Schweppes, has announced plans to cut its global workforce by around 15%, equivalent to around 7,500 jobs.
The company employs 1,500 people in Ireland, but last October announced plans to lay off up to 450 staff over the next two to three years.
Today the company said it would reduce its number of confectionery sites by 15%.
The company employs an estimated 50,000 people in confectionery worldwide.
