A dispute over outsourcing of ground handling staff at Aer Arann has been settled.
SIPTU members at the regional airline had threatened to take industrial action over plans to transfer operational and check-in functions at Dublin Airport to another private company, Sky Handling Partners.
SIPTU organiser Dermot O'Loughlin said that 38 Aer Arann staff will transfer to Sky Handling, but that each staff member will receive €1,800 per year of service in recognition of their contribution to the success of the company.
However, Aer Arann management says 32 personnel will transfer, and declined to reveal the terms of the exit packages.
Management spokesperson Colin Lewis stressed that Aer Arann does not recognise SIPTU, and that today's resolution of the dispute was the result of its internal negotiating procedures between the airline and its staff.
SIPTU had criticised the refusal of Aer Arann management to engage directly with the union.
Aer Arann management said the transfer of ground handling staff to Sky Handling Partners will proceed on Monday 25 June.
