Gunmen in Iraq have attacked the house of a senior police official in the Diyala province, killing 14 people including his wife and two brothers.
Police sources said his four children were kidnapped during the attack.
It was not clear if the official, who is head of police in Baquba, north of Baghdad, was at his house at the time of the attack.
Earlier two car bombs exploded in the southern Iraqi town of Qurna, killing 15 people and wounding 32.
Police said a bus exploded in a terminal in one attack while in the other a car blew up in a market.
