Property developer Tom Gilmartin has told the Mahon Tribunal that he was threatened with everything 'bar execution' before he agreed to give rival developer Owen O'Callaghan a share in the Quarryvale development in west Dublin.

Mr Gilmartin claimed that two councillors telephoned him on the last available day for a Quarryvale rezoning motion in 1991 to say they were being stopped by Mr O'Callaghan and AIB.

And he claims that a senior AIB executive told him there would not be a motion unless he came to agreement with Mr O'Callaghan.

Mr Gilmartin said his own solicitor advised him it would be better for his family if he agreed to give Mr O'Callaghan a share in the Quarryvale site.
