US President George W Bush has pledged continued commitment to fighting the Taliban in Afghanistan.
He was speaking after a meeting with the Secretary General of the NATO military alliance, Jaap de Hoop Scheffer.
About 37,000 NATO-led troops are in Afghanistan, including 15,000 US soldiers.
Another 12,000 US troops operate separately under their own command.
Mr Bush also signalled that he would keep pushing other NATO members to provide more manpower and lift restrictions some impose on their troops.
