Two Palestinian groups have agreed to a renewed ceasefire following a recent upsurge in violence in Gaza.
Hamas and Fatah leaders struck the deal to try to put a halt to factional fighting verging on civil war.
At least 49 Palestinians have been killed in nine days of fierce internal fighting between the two groups.
Previous ceasefires have been agreed but failed to hold.
Meanwhile, Israel has launched more air strikes on what it called Hamas targets, killing at least one Palestinian.
After a six-month lull, this is the sixth consecutive day of Israeli air raids; Israel said the strikes are in response to rocket attacks.
The Israeli army said the air strike hit three militants firing rockets from northern Gaza. Local residents said a shepherd who has no connection to the ruling Hamas movement or the rockets was killed.
Another five people were wounded, two seriously.
The makeshift rockets fired into southern Israel are said to have caused damage but no injuries.
At least 16 people have been killed in the Israeli attacks against Hamas since Wednesday. Local residents said four civilians were among the dead.
