Support for Fine Gael has increased at the expense of Fianna Fáil, according to the latest opinion poll.
The weekly tracking-poll by 'Red C' for The Sunday Business Post shows a two-point drop in Fianna Fáil support to 35%.
Fine Gael has gained three points since last week to 29%.
The poll was carried out on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday with a sample of over 1,200 voters around the country.
The Fine Gael leader, Enda Kenny, said he was encouraged by today's poll.
He pointed out that it was the highest FG has been in the Red C series and shows the shortest distance between it and FF for some time.
Mr Kenny is visiting the Tipperary South and North constituencies today.
He will be focussing on crime and in particular his commitment to deliver 2,000 additional gardaí.
