Downing Street has confirmed that the British Prime Minister, Tony Blair, will make an announcement tomorrow on his future as leader of the Labour party.
A spokesman said Mr Blair will address his cabinet colleagues in the morning, before making his plans public in a speech in his Sedgefield constituency.
The spokesman said Mr Blair would remain focused on the job of being Prime Minister until his successor is chosen by the Labour party in about seven weeks.
Chancellor Gordon Brown is the favourite to succeed Mr Blair.
