The latest opinion poll shows that support for Fianna Fáil has increased over the course of the past two weeks, a period dominated by the start of the election campaign, and media coverage of the Taoiseach's personal financial arrangements.

The Red C poll in tomorrow's Sunday Business Post also shows that support for the alternative government of Fine Gael and Labour has remained steady in the past fortnight.

Nearly 1,300 voters in constituencies across the country were questioned about their voting intentions by Red C for the poll, which has a margin of error of plus or minus 3%.

The survey was conducted on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday after the election campaign began, and while stories about the Taoiseach's involvement with the Mahon Tribunal were receiving strong coverage in the media.

But it does not take account of the launch of the Fianna Fáil manifesto, and the latest dramatic events involving the PDs.

Since the last Red C poll two weeks ago, the number of undecided voters has decreased by five points to 15%, they have been excluded from the final figures.

The poll shows that despite recent revelations, support for Fianna Fáil has increased by two points to 37%.

Fine Gael is down one to 26%, but that is balanced out by a one point rise in support for Labour.

The PDs are down one to just 2%, while the Greens are down one to 8%.

Sinn Féin are unchanged at 8%, as are Independents at 7%.
