Police in the Estonian capital, Tallinn, have said 600 people were arrested and 96 were injured in overnight protests against the removal of a controversial Soviet war memorial.
Most of the protestors are thought to have been ethnic Russians, who make up a third of Estonia's population.
The Russian government said the monument's removal was an insult, but the Estonian government has said it had become a public order menace and a focus for Estonian and Russian nationalists.
One man was killed in violence on Thursday.
