FG & SF in race for Donegal seat - poll

Mary Coughlan - To retain seat according to poll
Mary Coughlan - To retain seat according to poll

A TNS mrbi opinion poll, published on RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta this morning, suggests that Fine Gael and Sinn Féin will strongly contest the third seat in the Donegal South West constituency.

Results from the survey show that the Minister for Agriculture and Food, Mary Coughlan, would be comfortably re-elected on the first count with her support running at 26%.

Her transfers would help party colleague Pat 'the Cope' Gallagher to secure the second seat.

The fight for the third seat would be an extremely close contest between Pearse Doherty of Sinn Féin and sitting TD Dinny McGinley of Fine Gael.
