Galway bog fire brought under control

A large bog fire north of Galway city has been brought under control.

The Galway to Headford road has reopened, but visibility was reported to be quite bad due to smoke.

At its height, the fire caused road closures and led to long tailbacks.

Meanwhile, there are gorse fires between Sally Gap and Laragh in Co Wicklow, while a blaze at a building in Kinlough, Co Leitrim, has been brought under control.
