Gardaí have confirmed that they are now treating as murder the death of 30-year-old Rose Patterson in Clonakilty, Co Cork, in the early hours of yesterday morning.
This follows the completion of a post mortem examination on Ms Patterson's body by pathologist Dr Margaret Bolster.
Gardaí say, for operational reasons, they will not be revealing the results of that post mortem.
Ms Patterson, a mother of three young children, was found dead at a flat at Connelly Street in the west Cork town shortly before midday yesterday.
A man who was also found with injuries in the flat is continuing to receive treatment in hospital in Cork.
Gardaí hope to speak to him later.
