St Vincent's University Hospital in Dublin says it has been able to ensure there will be minimal disruption to services during tomorrow's one-hour work stoppage by nurses following discussions with the unions involved.
The hospital says all planned operations will proceed.
It says that there be some delays in Accident & Emergency but that all day cases and clinics are due to proceed.
The one-hour work stoppages will begin at 11am tomorrow at St Vincent's in Dublin, South Tipperary General Hospital in Clonmel and in the South Tipperary Mental Health Services.
South Tipperary General Hospital reports 28 cancellations tomorrow including seven considered to be 'general surgical and medical procedures.'
The hospital plans to reschedule those appointments as soon as possible.
The Minister for Health Mary Harney has said she is very concerned about the ongoing nurses' dispute and about the fact that it may escalate in the coming days.
She has appealed to all parties not to put patients at risk in whatever action takes place from tomorrow.
Nursing unions said a second series of short work stoppages will take place on Friday.
The Health Service Executive earlier said it was willing to resume discussions with the nursing unions to find a solution to their dispute over pay and conditions.
Yesterday, health service employers and nursing unions failed to agree a national contingency plan for the stoppages.
A work-to-rule by about 40,000 nurses across the country continues today.
