Zimbabwean opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai has been arrested following a raid on his party's offices in Harare.
Two weeks after he was detained and assaulted by police in an incident which drew international condemnation, the Movement for Democratic Change leader is now back in custody.
It is understood 20 MDC party workers were also arrested in today's raid on Harvest House in the Zimbabwean capital.
Dozens of armed riot police sealed off the area this afternoon, in an operation which police claimed was aimed at finding petrol bombs.
The latest arrests serve to underline the animosity between the MDC and the government and come as southern African leaders gathered to debate the growing crisis on their doorstep.
The 14-nation Southern African Development Community is meeting the Tanzanian capital, Dar es Salaam. The meeting is expected to be attended by Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe, who has sought to portray the MDC as instigators of the recent violence.
Mr Mugabe has dismissed the criticism which followed the arrest and subsequent beating Mr Tsvangirai and his supporters as they tried to attend an anti-government rally on 11 March.
He has also indicated his desire to stand for another six-year term of office in elections next year.
