Police in Copenhagen have confirmed that an Irishman was among those arrested in Copenhagen following a third day of rioting.
They say he was arrested on Friday, but has since been released and deported. However, as an EU citizen, he can re-enter Denmark at any time.
Six hundred people were arrested for taking part in city centre rioting sparked by the eviction of squatters from a youth centre.
British, Germans, Swedes, Norwegians, Italians and Spaniards are also among those detained.
Danish police described the violence as some of the worst the city has experienced in years.
They say an estimated 2,000 people attended a peaceful demonstration last night.
However, tear gas was used to disperse crowds, while cars were set alight and petrol bombs were used.
