Fianna Fáil - Poll support down four to 38%

A new opinion poll indicates that Fianna Fáil has lost support to the Opposition parties.

The poll, for tomorrow's Sunday Business Post, shows support for Fine Gael, Labour and the Greens have all increased.

With three months to go to the expected Election date, and it appears the race is tightening.

The latest monthly poll by Red C for the Sunday Business Post gives the Opposition parties some grounds for optimism.

Support for Fianna Fáil at 38% is down four points since January; Fine Gael is up one to 22%; while Labour, in the wake of Pat Rabbitte's tax cut pledge, is up two points to 14%.

The Greens are up one to 8 per cent; and the PDs, who have also promised major tax cuts, are up one to 4%.

Sinn Féin are unchanged at 7%, while Independents and others are down one to 7% support.

Fianna Fáil and the PDs are still ahead of Fine Gael and Labour - but the gap has narrowed to six points, and if the Greens are included the Rainbow is ahead.
