Torrential rain has led to flooding in many parts of the north midlands.
Gardaí said road conditions were treacherous after heavy rain this morning in parts of Longford and Cavan.
A number of roads were impassable this afternoon near the town Arva in Co Cavan.
AA Roadwatch advised motorists to reduce speed and leave a safe distance from other vehicles.
