Hungary's deputy chief veterinary officer has claimed that cooked turkey products were exported from the Suffolk farm at the centre of the bird flu outbreak after the virus was detected there.

Lajos Bognar said some of the food was exported to Hungary, which could be the source of the Suffolk outbreak.

A spokesman for Britain's Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs said exporting cooked poultry from an exclusion zone was allowed under European rules.
