A planned strike by maintenance workers at Dublin Port is expected to go ahead after talks at the Labour Relations Commission broke down without agreement last night.
The strike is planned for next Tuesday.
Nine shore-based workers have been suspended for refusing to work on tugboats.
Their union, the TEEU, claimed they were ordered to work on the tugs without proper training or equipment.
The company denies the claim. It accused the union of failing to honour an agreement for changes to work practices signed last year in return for pay increases.
