Windy weather is causing minor disruption to some forms of transport and strong winds are forecast to batter the country later today.

Two flights from Belfast City Airport to Manchester have been cancelled due to strong winds.

However, most flights have been arriving and departing on schedule.

According to Met Éireann, winds will pick up this afternoon and evening with forecasts that winds will reach gusts of more than 100km/h in exposed areas.

Yesterday, bad weather caused widespread disruption to travel, with cancellations to flights and ferries.

Almost 70 flights in and out of Dublin Airport were affected by severe winds.
