20 jobs are to go at a cable manufacturing company in An Cheathrú Rua, Co Galway.
Silcotec provides cable harnesses for the defence industry, as well as the medical and telecommunications sectors.
It is understood the jobs cuts are due to Silcotec recently losing a manufacturing contract to a rival company in Asia, where production costs are lower.
