The Archbishop of Dublin has said he was upset at the decision by the board of Our Lady's Hospital for Sick Children in Crumlin to withdraw co-operation from plans for a new national children's hospital.
Dr Diarmuid Martin, who is the Chairman of the hospital's board, said he was also upset at the fact that the decision was made in his absence.
Speaking on RTÉ Radio's This Week, he said he supported the plan for one single national children's hospital.
The Hospital said this evening it regretted the Archbishop did not have the opportunity to have an input in the decision of the board.
