Spain's Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero has said his government has suspended dialogue with the Basque separatist group, ETA, after the car bomb attack at Madrid international airport.
19 people were injured and two are missing after the explosion in a car park.
The Spanish government said ETA claimed responsibility for the attack, which signaled the apparent end of a nine-month ceasefire.
Arnaldo Batasuna, the head of the Batasuna political party banned for its links to ETA, said that Spain's peace process would continue despite the attack.
The ETA ceasefire was declared in March after four decades of armed struggle for independence of the Basque Country in which it killed more than 800 people.
