The funeral has taken place in the central Asian state of Turkmenistan of the late President, Saparmurat Niyazov, who died on Thursday from a heart attack.
Mr Niyazov was laid to rest in a lavish family mausoleum in his native village just outside the capital, Ashgabat, where his parents and two brothers are buried.
The prime ministers of Russia and Turkey and the Afghan president, as well as the US Assistant Secretary of State, Richard Boucher, were among hundreds that gathered for the funeral ceremony, which was held under heavy security.
Earlier on Sunday, thousands of people filed past Mr Niyazov's body, which lay in state in an open casket in one of his grandiose presidential palaces in the capital.
His widow and adult children sat alongside the coffin.
Mr Niyazov, who was known as Turkmenbashi or father of the Turkmens, was supreme ruler of what is regarded as one of the world's most repressive societies.
He was one of the last of the world's leaders to promote a cult of personality about himself.
His death, at 66, has fuelled fears of instability in a gas-rich country which has borders with Iran and Afghanistan.
