Hundreds of thousands of people are protesting in central Beirut this afternoon after a call by the Hezbollah-led opposition to step up its campaign to topple Lebanon's Western-backed government.
Security was tight ahead of the mass rally in the Lebanese capital.
It was organised by Hezbollah and its pro-Syrian allies and comes on the tenth day of protests to try to force Prime Minister Fouad Siniora's government out of office.
The opposition claims the government is weak and corrupt.
