Survivors of the 1995 massacre in the Bosnian town of Srebrenica have criticised the decision by the Dutch government to award medals to its soldiers who were serving with the UN in the city at the time.

Srebrenica was the worst massacre of civilians in Europe since World War II.

The withdrawal of the Dutch led to the massacre of 8,000 Muslims.

Bosnia's President has lodged an official protest with the Dutch government.

The Dutch Defence Minister said it was unjust that the soldiers should be blamed for what happened.
