A Fine Gael councillor in Co Cork, Tom Sheahan, has described the naming of a new whiskey after Michael Collins as 'inappropriate'.
A US-based spirits company recently launched 'Michael Collins Irish Whiskey', which features a picture of the War of Independence leader on the label.
It also includes a copy of Mr Collins' signature from the 1921 Treaty on the bottle.
Mr Sheahan said the company was acting in poor taste by using Collin's name on the whiskey.
