Iraqi authorities have extended a curfew imposed on Baghdad after more than 200 people were killed in a coordinated series of bombings in the Shia Sadr City stronghold on Thursday.
Yesterday, gunmen attacked a Sunni enclave in the city, burning four mosques and houses.
Police said 30 people were killed.
The security situation has forced Iraqi President Jalal Talabani to postpone a visit to Tehran for talks with his Iranian counterpart Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
