The United Nations General Assembly has overwhelmingly approved a resolution deploring an Israeli attack that killed 19 civilians.
The resolution, which is not binding, urges an end to all violence and terror attacks by both Palestinian and Israeli sides, and asks the UN Secretary General to investigate the Beit Hanoun attack.
Some 156 countries, including all EU member states, voted in favour of the measure.
The US, Israel and Australia were among seven nations to oppose it.
Meanwhile, Israel has rejected a peace plan calling for a ceasefire and increased international intervention.
The plan, which was put forward by Spain, France and Italy, is due to go before an EU summit in December.
