Ryanair has extended the closing date for its €2.80 per share Aer Lingus offer to 3pm on 4 December after receiving support from shareholders representing only 0.1% of the airline.
3pm yesterday was the first closing date, but Ryanair had been expected to extend this as the Aer Lingus ESOT, which represents current and former employees, is still voting on the offer. That ballot ends on 22 November.
Ryanair has a 19.2% stake in Aer Lingus.
The ESOT has 12%. Pilots and Denis O'Brien have also built up stakes in opposition to the Ryanair offer.
