Road conditions improved early today after the subsidence of much of the flooding which caused traffic disruption yesterday.
But gardaí said some local trouble spots remained, including the junction for the N11 Arklow by-pass in Co Wicklow.
Two families who had to be evacuated from their homes in the Meadows Lane area of Arklow last night were expected to be back in their homes today.
Wicklow County Council is assisting in the clean-up operation of the two houses, which are located in the Lower Main Street area.
Conditions in Gorey in Co Wexford, which was another flooding blackspot overnight, are said to have improved.
