Campaigners are to stage further protests in Dublin in the coming weeks as part of their ongoing battle to secure the future of Monaghan Hospital.
It emerged this morning that the group met with the Taoiseach yesterday during his visit to Cavan where it discussed the hospital issue with him.
A spokesperson for the Monaghan County Community Hospital Alliance said it was very pleased with its 20-minute meeting with Bertie Ahern.
It has also been announced that the campaigners will mount a cavalcade from Cavan to the M50 in Dublin where they will stage a protest in the coming weeks to highlight their issue.
