Fine Gael has called on the Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, to make a full public disclosure over his financial affairs.
On Thursday, Mr Ahern confirmed that he received payments which are being investigated by the Mahon Tribunal.
He described the leaking of confidential information to the tribunal as 'sinister'.
Speaking on RTÉ Radio's This Week programme, Fine Gael Environment Spokesperson Fergus O'Dowd said Mr Ahern needed to come out in the open and tell who gave him money and how much.
However, the Minister for Defence, Willie O'Dea, has said the Taoiseach has not been accused of any wrongdoing.
He said there was nothing wrong with the fact that a group of Mr Ahern's personal friends had come together to help him out at a difficult time in his personal life.
The Taoiseach has previously stated that reports of the amount of money given to him have been inflated.
