Tonight's Drumcree parade passed off peacefully with around 500 Orangemen and 75 bandsmen taking part.

The demonstrators walked from the centre of Portadown to Drumcree Church of Ireland to mark 3,000 days since the loyal order was banned from parading along the mainly nationalist Garvaghy Road.

A Parades Commission ruling limiting participants to 1,000 appeared to have been complied with.

The determination by the commission was made after the High Court in Belfast ordered it to reconsider its decision not to restrict the procession.
